Karelian Birch picture frames.
Karelian birch is a unique tree named after the region North of St Petersburg Russia - Karelia. The region is also well
known for fishing, camping, hunting.
The wood has light and distinct appearance. It is used normally for the decoration of
luxury interiors such as boats and ultra luxury cars. The reason it is thought after is
its limited availability and well recognisable pattern associated with opulence. It is
also not very tall tree so the trunks are thin (up to 15 cm). The tree is industrially
planted and farmed but it does not grow very fast. The price is 5 Euro and up.
The picture frames are not expensive because of their size. They are elegant and
calibrated to the size of standard photo pictures. They make compact gifts. If you frame
one of the pictures taken in St Petersburg they both will remind you of your visit to
Russian North for years to come.
